Wedding at L’Abbattoir : Allison and Phillip

Allison has the type of smile the lights up a room, it is infectious. Any one who knows her can see she is a source of bubbly energy, positivity and always laughs if any one else in the room is…and no one brings out more of those smiles than Phil. Phil is rarely serious and always trying to make Alli laugh. It’s no wonder that a chance encounter in Seattle turned into a lasting love.

Spending the day with these two people and the their intimate collection of closest friends and family was absolutely wonderful. We spent a few hours before the ceremony documenting their first look and the explored the historic Gas town neighbourhood in Vancouver. We found the nea Allison and Phillip were married in a beautiful private loft above Gas town’s L’Abbattoir. The staff at L’Abbattoir did an incredible job of helping to create a beautiful space for this couple to say I do and the service and food that followed was unlike anything I have seen. Alli and Phil, it was such a privilege to be part of your day and capture so many special moments. To be surrounded by your amazing friends and family was a perfect way to celebrate such a perfect day! Here are a few of the details from this charming event.

Alli + Phil: 1st look

In a hidden courtyard in down town Vancouver, Phil and Alli started their incredible wedding day with a “first look.” The tradition of a first look allows us to preserve that perfect moment when the groom first see’s his bride  and the excitement they both share for their wedding day. It’s gret for couples who’s day are playing out a little bit differently and seeing each other before their ceremony. As beautiful as we all think the bride looks no one is ever more smitten than the man marrying her…and in this case Alli was equally as taken with her groom.

I feel so incredibly blessed to have captured these first moments of them together and can’t wait to post more from this intimate wedding. 1st look-5

Newborn Session: Oliver

Last week I welcomed sweet Oliver to my studio for a mini newborn session. He was a dream sleeper and even let me get a few shots of him awake! I got to use a few new items from one of my favourite vendors (Taopan) including these sweet and and delicate little angel wings that Oliver is so graciously modelling for us! I’m so glad I got the opportunity to get some shots of this 8 day old newborn so mom can always remember how her tiny angel looked those 1st few days she brought him home!

Here are a few of my favourites!

Thompson’s Winter Family Photo’s

Last week I got to spend a chilly morning with this beautiful family…yup it was a little cold, but hey we are Albertans and I think I actually complained more than the kids. These two sweet kids where angles for their session, no exagertaion. Tyson brought tons of energy and smiles and London sat like a perfect little rosey cheeked doll, even playing in the snow for a few minutes so I can snap one of just mom and dad! Thank you Thompson’s for letting me drag out my favourite antiques and props and have a little fun with our rustic family photo session. Can’t wait to photograph you all again!
